Karen has more than 25 years’ experience as a senior advisor, governance consultant and business leader, working across central and local government, private sector and member-based organisations.

She specialises in strengthening capability at every level — from individual leaders through to executive teams and Boards — ensuring clarity of purpose, robust governance, commercial discipline and effective delivery. Her work spans strategy development, facilitation of large and small groups, organisational performance improvement, portfolio prioritisation, risk and assurance, and large-scale change implementation.

Karen brings strong commercial acumen alongside deep public sector insight, enabling organisations to balance value for money, stakeholder accountability and sustainable performance. She is highly experienced in designing practical capability uplift programmes, assessments, executive coaching interventions, and governance frameworks aligned to recognised standards while tailored to organisational context.

She is a Fellow of Project Management Institute New Zealand (awarded 2011), a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), and a Certified Management Consultant (CMC).
